Responsibilities include monitoring public policy developments, representing ICI before state officials, managing legislative and policy strategy development, evaluating pending legislation, establishing and maintaining a political network within state government, maintaining communications with ICI member companies, managing outside consultants, and coordinating joint efforts with other organizations. Requirements include a thorough understanding of state legislative and regulatory processes, experience working with state officials on financial services issues, strong communication skills, and strategic planning experience. An undergraduate degree is required, and a minimum of 5 years of federal, state, or local government experience is needed. **3. Assistant/Associate General Counsel:** This on-site position, under the direction of the Managing Director, represents the Independent Directors Council (IDC), the Investment Company Institute (ICI), and the investment company industry. The role involves developing and supporting IDC programming and initiatives. Responsibilities include supporting the development of content, representing IDC before policymakers, managing educational content, preparing meeting agendas, supporting conferences and workshops, strengthening independent director engagement, analyzing policy proposals, developing advocacy positions, communicating with directors and members, and collaborating with other Institute staff.
