Coastal Plain Area Eoa is currently hiring for three open positions. This organization is seeking skilled individuals to join their team. Coastal Plain Area Eoa has three on-site positions available: * **Head Start Cook Assistant:** The Cook Assistant will assist the Nutrition Manager in planning and implementing a feeding program to meet the nutritional needs of preschool children in the Head Start program. Key responsibilities include following safety and sanitation regulations, preparing and serving meals, assisting with nutrition education, maintaining food service equipment, managing inventory, attending meetings, traveling to work locations, and demonstrating knowledge of food preparation methods and building rapport with children and parents. A minimum of one year of experience in food preparation and meal service is preferred. A current driver’s license, access to a car with current insurance, a tuberculin skin test or health statement, and a valid first aid and CPR certificate are mandatory. * **Substitute Teacher:** This role supports classroom staff, carrying out developmentally appropriate activities in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards within the Head Start program. The Substitute Teacher will develop and implement lesson plans, follow daily schedules, sanitize classroom equipment, work with co-teaching staff, utilize lesson plans, provide an atmosphere that promotes parental involvement, observe, assess, and record child behavior, maintain records, and assist with meal service. Applicants should have good communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively as a team. A valid First Aid and CPR certificate is required, and candidates must pass a fingerprinting background check. * **Family Health Advocate:** The Family Health Advocate will support the Director and center staff in implementing and providing support services for Head Start children and families. This includes community assessment, home visits, record keeping, attendance monitoring, and coordinating health programs, including screenings, immunizations, and dental exams. The Family Health Advocate will also develop Family Partnership Agreements and assist with Family Assessments. The qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or a related field. Applicants must relate well to children and families. A valid first aid and CPR certificate is required, and candidates must have a valid driver’s license and access to an automobile with current insurance.
