The City of Dover, incorporated in 1829, contains 23.7 square miles and is home to approximately 39,000 residents. Dover is the state capital of Delaware, and the County seat of Kent County. Dover is home to the Dover Air Force Base. The Base is home to the C-5 Galaxy and C-17 Globemaster III aircraft. Dover AFB operates the largest and busiest air freight terminal in the Department of Defense, and is also home to the Air Mobility Command Museum, which welcomes thousands of visitors annually.
