When Douglas Weaver began cutting hair in the mid-1960s, his vision for a salon was based on three simple principles: providing unbeatable services to guests, creating career opportunities for aspiring professionals in the salon industry, and giving back to the communities that supported his vision.
More than 50 years later, Douglas J Institutes and Salons have become staples in communities throughout Michigan and Tennessee. In 2024, Douglas J Institutes acquired the College of Hair Design in Lincoln, Nebraska. The brand continues to look for expansion opportunities throughout the Midwest and beyond.
