Valley Milk, LLC (www.valleymikca.com) is based in Turlock, CA and was founded in 2017 when five multi-generational Central Valley California Dairy Families, nutritionists, and veterinarians came together with the intent of realizing the dream of becoming a vertically integrated processor of dairy ingredients. Commercial operations began in 2018 at the newly constructed, state-of-the-art, milk powder processing facility. The company is supplied by 18 dairy farms, all within 45 miles of the plant, forming full vertical integration from farm to powder. Valley Milk’s resilient multi-generational family foundation is fundamental in their promise to foster core values representing integrity, respect, innovation, promotion of a healthy and safe work environment, and commitment to their customers.
With a solid, strategic business plan, world-class engineering, and a rock-solid financial relationship, Valley Milk LLC built a plant and the foundation necessary to support the continued growth of the business. The plant produces Non-fat dry milk, skim milk powder and whole milk powder; when it is producing skim milk powder, the plant has capacity to process 2.25 million pounds of milk each day and produce 35,000 Mt of powder and 34,000 Mt of cream each year. The plant was designed by Shambaugh & Sons of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, an EMCOR company. It is built on a 30-acre site in the Turlock Industrial Park with sufficient open space to more than double the current capacity. The plant was named the 2019 Food Engineering Plant of the Year.
In 2023, Valley Milk expanded the plant to include the capability to process the cream into anhydrous milk fat (AMF), allowing the business to create additional value-added products and arbitrage the AMF, Cream and WMP markets. The AMF Plant has the capability to manufacture totes and drums for industrial users and bag in box for food service clients.
