Field Service Technician
Steel Equipment Specialists is a leading player in the steel equipment manufacturing and engineering industry, committed to delivering top-quality products and services to our clients. With a strong dedication to safety, innovation, and delivering innovative solutions to our customers, we have an immediate opening for a Field Service Technician. The role of Field Service Technician at Steel Equipment Specialists (SES) is to perform maintenance, service, and support installation on industrial machinery and process line equipment at customer facilities. Requires regular travel, hands-on work, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
An ideal candidate is mechanically inclined with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues on-site.
Responsibilities:
Conduct inspections, preventative maintenance, and basic calibrations.
Perform installation, service, and troubleshooting of industrial machinery and process line equipment.
Travel to customer facilities is required, including short-notice and emergency situations.
Communicate effectively with customers and team members.
When not traveling, technicians will support in-house project responsibilities of disassembly/assembly of mechanical components, subassemblies, and finished products to drawings, work instructions, and quality standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to solve machine issues.
Travel flexibility and being on call when needed in case of emergency to help reduce downtime.
Must be able to work as part of a team and independently from written instructions and blueprints.
Industrial and manufacturing equipment repair and/or field service experience is a plus.
Some experience with electrical, hydraulics, lubrication systems, and piping is a plus.
Good blueprint reading skills are required for both complex assembly prints and individual part prints.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written to convey information to coworkers, engineers, and customers.
