DUTIES:

This position is responsible to perform activities related to designing and teaching undergraduate college-level financial literacy and planning courses in the Management Department at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. 

This position requires a Certified Financial Planner designation. This position must be able to address issues in a timely manner, demonstrating excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Works independently, leads projects, and collaborates with team members. Uses superior communication skills, both verbal and written. 

Performs other related duties as assigned.

You will be evaluated for this position based on how well you meet the qualifications below. Your resume/application must demonstrate the required experience/education. Please see additional information on how your application is evaluated.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Minimum:

  1. Master’s Degree in Business Administration or a closely related field.
  2. Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Certification
  3. At least one year of teaching experience

Preferred (in addition to the minimum): 

  1. AACSB accredited degree.
  2. College-level teaching experience
  3. 5 years financial field work experience
  4. Experience with Process-Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL)
