The Process Chemical Engineer is responsible for safely operating continuous biodiesel production processes and maintaining equipment according to documented procedures. They provide technical expertise for equipment improvements and participate in the implementation of capital projects to enhance productivity and reliability.
A Bachelor of Science degree in a science-related field is required, with a degree in Chemical Engineering being preferred. Candidates must be able to lift 50 pounds, walk for prolonged periods, and work flexible hours to support plant turnarounds.
Description
Process Engineers are typically recent chemical engineers hired to fill shift positions. Process Engineers are expected to learn how to safely perform tasks and activities necessary to produce quality biodiesel products. Process Engineers will become members of functional work groups that are directly involved in the plant’s production, maintenance, and engineering. Process Engineers are expected to quickly develop skills and knowledge in process manufacturing areas. Process Engineers also work on plant projects, process engineering design, production management, and participate in the analysis of plant consumption data. Process Engineers provide technical expertise on matters of manufacturing process equipment improvements and construction design.

Qualifications
Bachelor of Science Degree in Science related area required.
Engineering Degree (preferably Chemical), an advantage.
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to walk for prolonged periods.
Able to work at multi-levels.
Can lift fifty (50) pounds.
This role reports to the Operations Supervisor. This role may be required to work outside scheduled work hours to support non-routine work and plant turnarounds. Limited travel may be required to participate in training, seminars, and conferences. The Memphis Bioenergy manufacturing plant operates on a seven [7]-day, twenty-four [24]-hour schedule.
