But as team size grows, friction creeps in: slower CI, flaky tests, duplicated patterns, tribal knowledge that never gets written down, tooling that stops working. Left alone, small taxes compound into serious drag.&nbsp;</p> <p>We need someone who wakes up thinking about how to make every engineer here 10x more effective.</p> <h3><strong>What you'll do:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Make CI/CD fast and boring. Shave time off builds, kill flaky tests, make shipping easy</li> <li>Hunt down tech debt and build abstractions around duplicated code.</li> <li>Measure what matters by improving our observability and monitoring. Build times, deploy frequency, time-to-first-commit. Know if we're getting faster or slower.</li> <li>Unblock people. Jump into unfamiliar code, debug gnarly issues, get teammates back to their actual work.</li> <li>Automate the tedious. Find manual processes that shouldn't be.</li> <li>Spread good patterns. Make sure useful things travel faster than bad habits.</li> <li>Ship full stack code across our Next.js frontend and Ruby on Rails backend.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>You'll thrive here if you</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Can't watch someone do something the slow way.</li> <li>Are a generalist who goes deep when needed.
