Software Engineer (All Levels; New York)

About this role
Traba is building the autonomous future of industrial labor. We connect businesses with vetted workers through fully autonomous, multi-agent AI workflows to meet staffing needs and optimize global supply chains. As a Software Engineer on the founding team, you’ll help shape our core platforms and scale the technology that will power industrial staffing for years to come.
What youll do
- Lead the development of both frontend and backend applications, guiding and mentoring other engineers when necessary.
- Architect the development of our core systems—from real-time job matching algorithms to autonomous worker vetting pipelines powered by ML and AI agents.
- Design, architect, and build scalable web and mobile applications, distributed systems, and APIs to meet the growing needs of the business.
- Work closely with the product and design teams to create a seamless user experience while maintaining high standards for UI/UX.
- Establish and promote best practices for code reusability, performance, and build processes across both the frontend and backend.
- Implement systems to monitor application health and performance, helping the team understand user experience and resolve any issues proactively.
- Be a key player on a scrappy founding team, contributing to the future of flexible light industrial staffing.
What Traba is looking for
- 2+ years of full-stack product engineering experience.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, and Python.
- Strong CS fundamentals; technical degree from a recognized university.
- Experience with matching/recommendation systems, marketplaces, and AI labor platforms.
- Experience with multi-sided platforms, recruiting, and serving non-technical users in traditional industries (e.g., logistics, supply chain, healthcare).
- Willingness to work in-person in New York, 60+ hours per week, five days per week.
- Demonstrated track record owning features and products from 0 to 1 or 1 to 10 in early-stage startup environments with tangible business results.
- Commitment to our ambitious mission and creating value from meaningful equity.
