Public Relations Intern - Internal Opportunity

This is a meaningful opportunity to learn about the inner workings of a quickly growing and highly collaborative company.</p> <p><strong>Tecovas</strong> is looking for a Public Relations Intern to play a key role in supporting our public relations and partnership strategies, from communicating with our external PR agency to analyzing brand coverage and recapping event impact. Reporting directly to the PR &amp; Partnerships Manager, you will receive in-person mentorship, weekly check-ins, and inclusion in relevant meetings for learning and exposure to ensure an effective and valuable experience.</p> <p>This position is based out of Austin, TX with regular in office attendance expected. Must be available for the full duration of the internship (12 weeks).</p> <p><strong>Please note that this internship opportunity is available only to current and active Tecovas employees. If you are not a Tecovas employee, you will not be considered for this position.</strong></p> <p><strong>What you’ll do:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Streamline communications on brand initiatives and launches with our external PR agency.</li> <li>Conduct brand coverage and competitor analysis to identify key trends and opportunities.</li> <li>Research and identify potential new partners that align with the Tecovas brand.</li> <li>Thoroughly recap PR and partnership impact and key takeaways post-event or post-launch for internal learnings.</li> <li>Document brand messaging and assets, delivering them to cross-functional teams to ensure consistency.</li> <li>Receive training in PR outreach, build editor relationships, and hone your pitching tactics.</li> <li>Take on a dedicated stretch project to build a PR and Gifting Strategy to support our evergreen Work storytelling</li> </ul> <p><strong>Experience we’re looking for:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Currently pursuing a degree, with a preference for a major in Communications, Marketing, or Public Relations.</li> <li>Strong PR writing skills and an interest in partnership strategy.</li> <li>Experience or interest in brand partnerships, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What you bring to the table:</strong></p> <ul> <li>You are driven, take great initiative, and have strong problem-solving skills.</li> <li>You are a strong writer and are comfortable with public speaking.</li> <li>You are eager to learn and contribute to a fast-paced team.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Must</strong> be located in the Austin, TX area&nbsp;</li> <li><strong>Must</strong> be available to work up to 32 hours per week, Monday - Friday (between the hours of 8AM-5PM CST)</li> <li><strong>Must</strong> be at least 18 years of age or older</li> <li><strong>Mus</strong>t have reliable transportation</li> <li>Able to lift up to 30 pounds regularly&nbsp;</li> <li>Internship program culminates with a presentation to our leadership team summarizing your experience at Tecovas with key takeaways and feedback regarding the program.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>Internship Perks:&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Competitive hourly rate - starting at $18/hour; <em>The actual compensation will be based on factors such as the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.</em></li> <li>Daily lunch stipend</li> <li>Gain more insight and professional experience into the departments that help a direct-to-consumer retail organization succeed</li> </ul> <p><strong>About Us:</strong></p> <p>Based in Austin, TX, Tecovas brings the spirit of the West to the modern consumer.
