Superserve (ex. Ray AI) is seeking a Founding Engineer (Generalists) to contribute to the Ray open-source project and help build proprietary services, model database schemas, data processing, and LLM-powered features. You’ll join a founding team shipping immediately to the Ray ecosystem, impacting tens of thousands of developers worldwide.

What youll do

• Build integrations with open-source agent frameworks
• Implement a checkpointing and compaction tool for agents
• Design LLM tracing as a feature for agents
• Implement a generic pattern for handling rate-limits across API providers
• Write a proposal for a durable workflow execution framework
• Participate in on-call rotation to triage customer issues and incidents

What Superserve (ex. Ray AI) is looking for

• Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform or Pulumi or similar
• Experience with Platform or Infrastructure roles
• Hands-on experience deploying services on at least one major cloud platform (GCP/AWS/Azure)
• Experience contributing to open-source software or building community-facing projects
• 4+ years of experience in software engineering
• Experience with container orchestration and deployment using Kubernetes
• Proficiency in SQL for data modeling and database work
• Proficiency in Python for backend development and proficiency in TypeScript for backend/service components
