Senior Platform Infrastructure Engineer

Who are we looking for

We are looking for a Senior Platform Infrastructure Engineer with 5–8 years of experience to own and scale the infrastructure that powers Spade's high-throughput enrichment platform. You're someone who's been there and done that – you've built and scaled AWS infrastructure at a fast-moving startup, you know how to take an existing architecture to the next level, and you're equally comfortable standing up something new from scratch. This is a high-ownership role where you'll be building the roads that other engineers drive on – creating paved paths, reusable tooling, and observability primitives so product teams can ship and operate new products without reinventing infrastructure. You'll partner closely with an existing infrastructure engineer and a small, tight-knit engineering team that moves fast and ships constantly.

What you will be doing

Building and maintaining highly scalable, reproducible AWS infrastructure (ECS/Fargate, Aurora Postgres, S3) that product engineers can self-serve on top of

Designing and implementing developer tooling, service templates, and scaffolds that give engineers a clear paved path to spin up, monitor, and operate new products at scale

Owning and improving observability and monitoring systems – setting the standard for how teams instrument, alert on, and debug production services

Building and upgrading internal frameworks for asynchronous and batch processing that other engineers build product functionality on top of

Getting hands dirty in Python and Django when needed – understanding the backend systems deeply enough to make informed infrastructure decisions and help scale the API layer
