Forward Deployed Product Manager

As the FDP, you will be responsible for leading high-impact customer deployments of our AI Agent platform—from pilot to production—while acting as the connective tissue between customer feedback and Sendbird’s core product roadmap.</p> <h4><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><em><span style="font-weight: 400;">We are a hybrid work environment requiring a minimum of 3 days/week in our San Mateo office.</span></em></span></h4> <p><strong>Who You Are</strong></p> <ul> <li>You have 2-4 years of previous experience in a PM or other product-facing role (consulting firm is a huge plus)</li> <li>You have a CS degree or other technical equivalent</li> <li>You understand code but want to be more business-facing</li> <li>You are a mission-driven builder who thrives at the edge of product, engineering, and customer success.&nbsp;</li> <li>You enjoy fast-paced environments, love solving messy problems, and have a strong desire to make an immediate impact through close collaboration with real users.&nbsp;</li> <li>You have the confidence to lead externally and the humility to learn quickly.</li> <li>You are spontaneous and adventurous - this role will require frequent travel, sometimes on short notice</li> </ul> <p><strong>What You Will Do</strong></p> <ul> <li>Work directly with customers to understand their business needs and design production-grade agents that deliver measurable value.</li> <li>Capture insights from the field and turn them into clear feedback for product and engineering teams.</li> <li>Contribute to internal tooling and playbooks that enable faster and more reliable future deployments.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What You Bring</strong></p> <ul> <li>Technical familiarity with AI tools, frameworks, or agent-based systems.&nbsp;</li> <li>Curiosity about how AI can solve real-world business problems.</li> <li>A hands-on mindset—you’re excited to build, test, and iterate alongside engineers and customers.</li> <li>Ability to work directly with customers and distill complex or vague needs into clear product outcomes.</li> <li>High ownership and comfort with ambiguity—you move fast, adapt quickly, and drive progress without waiting for perfect plans.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Added Value</strong></p> <ul> <li>Prior 0→1 product experience—ideally having built and launched something from scratch, such as in a founder or early team role.</li> <li>Experience working with agent frameworks, LLM pipelines, or AI/ML tooling.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What We Offer Includes (but is not limited to)</strong></p> <ul> <li>20 days PTO, 13 paid US company holidays, 7 sick days, 1 volunteer day, plus 2 rest/rejuvenation and birthday days off</li> <li>Company subsidized medical, dental, vision insurance</li> <li>Flexible spending accounts</li> <li>Parental leave</li> <li>Life and disability insurance</li> <li><em>Be Your Best Self</em>: An annual stipend of $3,500 (prorated after 3 months) for expenses ranging from professional development classes and training, to personality assessments, gym memberships, books, fitness classes, mental health services, and massages</li> </ul> <p><strong>Pay Transparency</strong></p> <p>For cash compensation, we set standard ranges for all roles based on function, level, and geographic location.&nbsp; To determine our ranges, we utilize a variety of compensation data benchmarked against similar-stage growth companies. &nbsp; A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this role is $140,000 - $175,000.&nbsp; This range is specific to the San Francisco Bay market.&nbsp; We consider several factors when making final compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs which may cause your specific offer to vary from the amount listed above.</p> <p class="p1"><strong>Flexible Work Policy</strong></p> <p class="p1">We offer a flexible work schedule at Sendbird.&nbsp; We also value collaboration and relationship building.&nbsp; With those values in mind, we require all employees within an hour's commute range of their local office to gather with their team in the office three days per week as a minimum.&nbsp; Some of our roles require a more frequent in-office schedule.&nbsp; Please work with your manager to understand the office time requirements for your position.</p> <p class="p1"><strong>What diversity and inclusion mean to us</strong></p> <p class="p1">There is no such thing as a perfect candidate and the best employees come from a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and skill sets.
