Senior Solutions Engineer - Enterprise

Semgrep is seeking two Senior Solutions Engineers with strong engineering depth in DevOps, AppSec, and CI/CD to lead technical engagements in Enterprise sales cycles. You’ll be the technical lead, able to read code, reason about vulnerabilities, and articulate Semgrep’s value to both engineering and executive audiences. Roles include one hybrid position in the Bay Area and one remote role on the West Coast, with travel to clients as needed.

What youll do

• Become an expert on Semgrep and integrate it into customer CI/CD pipelines, developer workflows, and AppSec programs.
• Run technical discovery, diagnose issues, and advise on solution design for enterprise environments.
• Own Proof-of-Value cycles end-to-end—defining success criteria, configuring environments, and delivering technical wins.
• Write or adapt Semgrep rules to identify vulnerabilities and demonstrate product mastery.
• Explain Semgrep’s technical differentiation to security engineers, DevOps teams, and executives.
• Reduce customer friction by refining demo setups, automation, and educational content.
• Collaborate with AEs (2:1 ratio) to support enterprise deals (~$140K ACV; 6–12 month cycles).
• Help scale the Solutions Engineering function through process improvements, enablement, and best practices.

What Semgrep is looking for

• 6+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering or equivalent enterprise pre-sales roles.
• Enterprise sales experience with complex technical products in AppSec, DevOps, CI/CD, monitoring, or adjacent developer tooling.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding code; strong CS fundamentals.
• Experience with AppSec, DevOps, and CI/CD environments; experience integrating SAST or security tools into pipelines; experience writing or adapting static analysis rules (e.g., Semgrep rules).
• Ability to work hybrid in the Bay Area or remotely from California, Washington, or Oregon.
• Experience debugging complex technical issues during sales cycles or proofs-of-value; experience owning PoV/PfV cycles end-to-end.
• Excellent communication skills and comfort explaining technical concepts to security engineers, DevOps teams, and executives.
• Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
