Health Services – Public Health Immunization Services

Status: 1 Contract Full Time (12 Months)

 

Salary Range: $103,175.00 – $128,969.00 per annum (plus comprehensive benefits, where applicable)

Hiring Range: $103,175.00 – $116,072.00 per annum

 

Work Mode: Hybrid *see below for more details about this work mode.

The Region of Peel is seeking a results-driven, public health leader to join our team as a Supervisor, Immunization Services & Communicable Disease Contact Centre (IS/CDCC). In this role, you will lead a team of Public Health Nurses, overseeing the delivery of accurate, timely, and responsive health education and inquiry support to residents, healthcare providers, and community partners.

 

You will manage the daily operations of a high-volume call centre, leveraging tools like Salesforce (ENDS) and Five9, while ensuring compliance with public health legislation and service excellence across programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, delivery, and evaluation of Public Health programs related to communicable diseases and immunizations.

  • Supervise and support a team of Public Health Nurses in a fast-paced call centre environment.

  • Ensure program compliance with all relevant legislation (e.g., PHIPA, ISPA, CCEYA) and public health standards.

  • Develop and manage program budgets and resource allocation to meet service goals.

  • Maintain internal and external communications with partners such as schools, physicians, and community organizations.

  • Use data and performance indicators to drive quality improvement and service optimization.

  • Contribute to divisional strategic planning and present key initiatives to leadership and stakeholders.

What The Role Requires:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (required)

  • At least three years of experience in Public Health

  • Strong understanding of Ontario Public Health Standards, population health principles, and relevant legislation

  • Experience leading and motivating teams, with strong coaching and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex service delivery in a high-volume environment

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with public health tools and databases (e.g., Panorama, Salesforce (ENDS), and Five9)

  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias
  • A satisfactory Level 1 Criminal Record Check obtained directly from a police station (third-party background checks will not be accepted)

Nice To Have:

  • Additional education in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field

  • Previous leadership experience in Public Health or healthcare services

  • Knowledge of change management frameworks (e.g., ADKAR)

Work Mode & Job Location:

In this role, you’ll benefit from the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement that prioritizes meaningful in-person connection. A minimum of two days per week on-site is expected, with additional in-person presence as operational needs evolve. This arrangement allows for a blend of in person and hybrid work that adapts to support both organizational priorities and employee flexibility and is subject to change over time.

 

It's important to note that your off-site work location must be within the province of Ontario.
