We are seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to lead the design, development, and scaling of our AI-driven coaching platform. You will play a pivotal role in building and optimizing systems that power personalized coaching experiences at scale — from LLM inference optimization and observability to real-time conversational interfaces. Working closely with engineering, product, and machine learning teams, you'll help deliver secure, high-performance, and deeply interactive user experiences. This role requires deep expertise in Node.js, Next.js, React, Python, hands-on experience with LLM systems (Anthropic, OpenAI), observability and monitoring, and streaming conversational interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

AI & LLM Platform Engineering

• LLM Inference Optimization: Architect and optimize LLM inference pipelines using Anthropic, OpenAI, and other frontier models. Implement caching strategies, prompt engineering optimizations, request batching, model routing, and cost-efficiency mechanisms to scale AI features reliably.
• Observability & Monitoring: Design and implement comprehensive observability systems for LLM products — including latency tracking, token usage monitoring, cost attribution, error rate analysis, and quality drift detection. Build dashboards and alerting using tools like AWS CloudWatch, Sentry, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
• Recommendation Systems: Build, optimize, and maintain recommendation algorithms using machine learning techniques and LLMs to deliver personalized coaching content and insights at scale.

Full-Stack & Conversational UI Development

• Conversational Interfaces: Lead the development of rich, real-time conversational experiences using streaming (SSE, WebSockets) to deliver low-latency, interactive AI coaching interfaces.
• Frontend Architecture: Drive the development of responsive, performant web applications using Next.js and React, ensuring best practices in state management, component architecture, and real-time data synchronization.
• Backend & API Development: Design and implement scalable RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven backend systems using Node.js and Python, with a focus on high-throughput, low-latency AI feature delivery.

Platform Reliability & Performance

• Performance & Service Monitoring: Develop and maintain monitoring systems to track platform performance, latency, and reliability. Build proactive alerting and incident response workflows to ensure high availability.
• Event-Driven Architecture: Implement WebSocket-based systems and event-driven architectures to support real-time monitoring, streaming responses, and live data flows across the platform.

Security & Compliance

• Security Compliance: Partner with compliance teams to implement and audit features meeting SOC 2, ISO 27001, and ISO 27018 standards, ensuring secure data handling across AI systems and user data pipelines.
• Secure Coding Practices: Champion security-first development practices, including secure API design, data protection, and vulnerability management.

Collaboration & Technical Leadership

• Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with product, design, and ML teams to translate complex requirements into elegant, user-centric, compliant technical solutions.
• Mentorship: Mentor mid-level engineers, conduct code reviews, and establish engineering best practices that elevate the entire team's output.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive platform scalability and performance through proactive auditing, optimization of recommendation accuracy, LLM pipeline efficiency, and system responsiveness.
