Forward Deployed Infrastructure Engineer, US Government (Baseline Team)

Palantir Technologies is seeking Forward Deployed Infrastructure Engineers for the Baseline team to build, operate, and maintain scalable, reliable infrastructure for government deployments. You’ll work with forward‑deployed and product teams to design practical solutions, automate workflows, and support production systems that solve complex government challenges.

What youll do

• Handle support and operations of Palantir software, including monitoring, alerting, configuration management, and upgrades.
• Deploy new Palantir products at customer deployments and migrate to the latest infrastructure types.
• Debug, improve, and optimize Palantir’s services and infrastructure for long-term reliability and scalability.
• Reduce manual operations by automating workflows, processes, and runbooks where possible.
• Provide technical troubleshooting for production issues, ensuring timely resolution with minimal disruption.
• Participate in on-call rotations to support production environments.

What Palantir Technologies is looking for

• 2+ years in Infrastructure Engineering or equivalent.
• Active U.S. security clearance (TS or TS/SCI).
• Travel up to 50% of the time.
• Based in or willing to relocate to the D.C. area.
• Hands-on production experience with containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Background in defense tech or a high-complexity technical organization.
• Proficiency in Java.
• Experience with IaC tooling (Terraform, Ansible) or CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience building and deploying production systems, not just debugging.
• Cybersecurity-focused engineering experience.
• Strong CS fundamentals.
