Staff Software Engineer (Remote – US)

NewtonX is seeking a Staff Software Engineer (Remote – US) to lead technical initiatives, shape architecture, and scale our enterprise tech stack. You’ll work with a cross-functional team to translate business needs into robust systems, driving impact across the organization. This role is critical to expanding our engineering capacity and enabling new categories of work.

What youll do

• Lead projects end-to-end, taking ownership from conception to deployment while collaborating closely with product managers.
• Design and build scalable systems, working with large datasets and a broad service-oriented architecture.
• Contribute to system-level design and architectural decisions, innovating on our tech stack.
• Mentor other engineers through technical leadership and collaboration.
• Build and scale high-performing, full-stack applications using Python/Django on the backend and React on the frontend.

What NewtonX is looking for

• 5-8 years of experience in full-stack software engineering with increasing responsibility.
• Strong proficiency in Python and Django for backend; modern React for frontend; JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Experience designing and building scalable, large-scale infrastructure and systems with large datasets.
• Experience at a Series B or similar stage startup; familiarity with enterprise tech stacks.
• Strong CS fundamentals; ability to mentor and lead cross-functional teams.
