About this role

About NELP

NELP is building the system of record for nursing excellence. We improve patient outcomes and nurse retention across the country's largest health systems — clients include Cleveland Clinic, Kaiser Permanente, AdventHealth, Prisma Health, Missouri Baptist, and Stamford Health.

Nursing leaders drive retention, patient safety, quality improvement, and workforce development, but the programs behind that work (Magnet, Pathway to Excellence, clinical ladders, shared governance, EBP) are still run on spreadsheets and shared drives. NELP is the only unified platform for ANCC designations, professional governance, digital clinical ladders, and clinical inquiry.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Own architecture and ship production features across four integrated products
  • Design data models and services for complex multi-hospital, multi-unit organizational structures
  • Build AI workflows for exemplar writing, evidence organization, and document retrieval across large program datasets
  • Implement enterprise infrastructure: SSO/SAML, role-based access, audit logging, HRIS integration
  • Sit in customer calls, hear problems firsthand, and turn them into shipped product within days
  • Set engineering standards, CI/CD, testing strategy, and architectural patterns for the team to scale on

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years building production SaaS products
  • Strong full-stack experience: TypeScript, React, server-side JavaScript
  • Experience designing backend systems for multi-tenant, workflow-heavy applications
  • Comfortable owning both architecture and implementation in an early-stage environment
  • Experience with authentication systems (SSO/SAML) and enterprise integrations
  • Clear communicator who works well with non-technical domain experts
  • Ability to empathize with users and not overengineer for the sake of it
