Social Media Lead
About this role
We are looking for a Social Media Lead with 1-4 years of experience to own Midcentury's external narrative on X/Twitter and make us one of the most relevant voices in frontier AI. You'll work directly with the co-founders to distill cutting-edge research in AI data, world models, and robotics into compelling content that resonates with researchers and technical builders. This is a rare opportunity to define the public identity of an a16z-backed multimodal data research lab from the ground up — at a moment when the company is ready to go from stealth to spotlight. The ideal candidate is chronically online, deeply fluent in the AI ecosystem, and has a proven instinct for what spreads on AI Twitter.
What will you be doing?
Own Midcentury's X/Twitter presence end-to-end — this is the only platform that matters early on, and you'll be the sole person driving it
Work directly with researchers and co-founders to extract technical progress (benchmarks, evaluations, open-source artifacts, partnerships) and turn it into content that actually spreads
Distill complex AI data and world model concepts into posts that engage both frontier researchers and the broader AI Twitter audience
Build and execute a narrative strategy around launches, fundraising announcements, and research milestones that have been waiting for the right person to ship
Grow Midcentury's following to 10K+ and dramatically increase engagement rate within the first 90 days to 6 months
