Midcentury Labs recently closed a seed and Series A round led by a16z and is moving to dramatically accelerate growth by expanding our founding team. We’re building an incentive layer for diverse, consented, and representative data to power next-generation AI, starting with audio training data and partnerships with top AI labs. This role will own GTM and commercial relationships to scale data sales with frontier AI labs and model builders.

What youll do

• Own GTM and commercial relationships with frontier AI labs and major model builders.
• Drive revenue from data sales (audio datasets) into labs like OpenAI, Anthropic, Mag 7 labs, and other leading AI companies.
• Support supply-side partnerships (gaming, media, audio/video companies) for data licensing.
• Have technical conversations with partners about model training pain points, dataset specs, and data quality.
• Operate as the first GTM hire, self-directed and able to design and execute without a pre-existing playbook.

What Midcentury Labs is looking for

• 3+ years in Strategic Partnerships or Business Development, preferably at an AI lab or data training/labeling/eval company.
• Existing relationships with frontier AI labs or model training companies.
• Experience as Engagement Manager or similar role at an AI lab or data training/labeling/eval company (Scale AI, Turing, Handshake, Mercor).
• Proven ability to close deals end-to-end: sourcing from networks, technical conversations to understand pain points, and navigating ad hoc sales processes.
• Strong CS fundamentals or equivalent technical education.
• Comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end AI data landscape.
• Technical fluency in model training, dataset specs, and data quality.
• Proficiency in structuring and negotiating data licensing and commercial agreements.
