About the role
Mercura is building AI software for the backbone of our economy. We are one of the fastest growing companies from YC’s W25 batch and raised a heavily oversubscribed round at one of the highest valuations in our cohort. After surpassing $1M in ARR in under a year, we are looking for team members ready to go all-in to help us reach our next milestone: $10M ARR by the end of 2026.
We’re looking for our first (Senior) Business Development Representative (BDR) to help us grow our customer base and scale our outbound sales engine. As the first point of contact for potential B2B mid-market customers, you’ll identify pain points, generate leads, and convert interest into opportunities. You’ll work hands-on with the founders in a fast-paced environment, taking ownership of outreach, discovery, and relationship-building in the early stages of our sales funnel. What you will be working on
Own the full prospecting cycle — from identifying potential leads to engaging and converting them via phone, email, and social media
Work directly with the CEO on high-impact sales initiatives
Experiment with and implement new inbound and outbound lead generation strategies
Develop deep product, market, and customer understanding to tailor pitches and close deals
Conduct in-depth market research to identify target accounts
Create and refine sales materials, scripts, and templates; lead internal knowledge sharing.
Engage with prospects daily, build relationships, and feed insights back to the product team
What we're looking for
You’re an energetic , outgoing person who enjoys selling , engaging with customers, and convincing others.
You present and communicate professionally , especially with C-level executives in the construction industry.
You have first experience in sales (ideally SaaS/tech/B2B), or even in construction & the trades
You’re ambitious, resilient and willing to work hard in a fast-moving environment
You’re a strong team player while you also proactively step up to lead initiatives when needed
You want to work in-person in Munich with a higher intensity than in a 9-5 job
You are a native German speaker.

Interview Process
Step 1: Intro call Casual intro meeting with one of the founders to get to know each other and introduce Mercura.
Step 2: Practical exercise & role play 💡 At Mercura, we value our applicants' time. That's why we compensate you with €50 if we ask you to complete a take-home challenge. Two practical exercises to showcase your skills, followed by calls to walk us through your approach, insights, and solution for the exercise. The calls will include role plays in which we simulate the interaction with a customer.
Step 3: Personal fit Interview Meet another co-founder member to get a feel for our culture and working style.
Step 4: On-Site Work alongside the entire team for a day on-site from our Munich office to fully immerse yourself in our culture and collaboration style. This on-site will be paid.
Step 5: Reference checks Please provide 2–3 references so we can gather insights into your strengths and working style.
Step 6: Offer If we see a great fit, you will get an offer, including a competitive compensation package.
