As a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) at Mercura you will be the technical face turning signed deals into live, working AI deployments, working on-site from our Munich office. You’ll combine deep hands-on engineering—integrating systems, structuring data, and adapting models—with daily engagement with users and senior stakeholders to deliver prototypes and production-grade solutions.

What you'll do

• Own the full technical implementation from sales handoff through customer go-live.
• Integrate Mercura’s software with complex enterprise systems, including SAP and external APIs.
• Structure and clean messy customer data to make it usable for AI-driven workflows.
• Configure and fine-tune models, including prompt engineering and model-behavior adjustments for domain fit.
• Build rapid prototypes that demonstrate new features or solve customer problems and evolve them into scalable solutions.
• Debug production issues and iteratively improve integrations and model behavior in real customer environments.
• Engage daily with technical users and senior business stakeholders to translate pain points into engineering decisions.
• Surface patterns, edge cases, and product gaps to the core engineering team with actionable context.

What Mercura is looking for

• Proven full‑stack experience across frontend, backend, and data pipelines, with Python, React, TypeScript, SQL, and API work.
• Practical experience with AI and LLMs, agents, and prompt engineering to adapt model behavior to workflows.
• Experience or strong familiarity integrating software with ERP systems, REST/GraphQL APIs, webhooks, or B2B SaaS implementations.
• Strong ability to wrangle messy, inconsistent real‑world data and build reliable structure quickly.
• Customer‑obsessed mindset with the ability to solve problems end‑to‑end and communicate technical tradeoffs to non‑technical stakeholders.
• High agency, ownership, and comfort working with ambiguity and legacy systems.
• Excellent communication skills across engineers, users, and senior business stakeholders.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Munich and contribute at a pace and intensity higher than a typical 9–5.
