Senior Forward Deployed Engineer
About this role
from first call to production scale.
You are the primary technical partner for our most strategic accounts. You run onboarding, guide production readiness, and create a tight loop from what customers do to what we should build.
You are not support. You are the person who understands our customers architectures deeply enough to have architectural opinions — and acts on them.
Open Source LLM Engineering Platform — the Datadog of AI observability. Trusted by 19 of the Fortune 50, 2k+ customers, 26M+ monthly SDK downloads. Now part of ClickHouse.
Own 10-20 strategic accounts — Onboarding, success planning, deep dives into their AI architecture. You drive adoption across the full lifecycle.
Guide production readiness — Instrumentation strategy, evaluation setup, data modeling, security and privacy considerations, operational playbooks.
Lead escalations — Own triage, root-cause coordination, and crisp customer communication during high-severity incidents. Establish prevention mechanisms for repeat issues.
Turn customer signal into product — Aggregate patterns across your portfolio. Translate them into actionable feedback and durable collateral for the whole GTM org.
- Senior experience in TAM, Solutions Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, or Customer Success Engineer where you owned outcomes
- Strong technical foundation: debug integrations, reason about distributed systems, APIs, cloud infrastructure
- Demonstrated work in applied AI engineering: LLM apps, agents, RAG, eval pipelines
- Excellent communicator: lead technical meetings, drive decisions, write docs engineers actually follow
- High ownership: you ship artifacts and create repeatable systems, not bespoke one-offs
Nice-to-have: devtools/OSS experience, observability concepts, technical writing or enablement track record
