Responsible for assisting the Education Manager in following camp activity schedule, while supervising small groups of children (age groups vary). Assist the Education Manager in giving small science lesson, pre-developed for them and carry out various activities. Assisting in always maintaining maximum safety for children.
POSITION SUMMARY:
To assist the Education Manager:
At all times, maintain supervision of group of children, including bathroom visits.
Teach science lesson on given theme each morning, using visuals and other appropriate resources.
Carry out activities planned on daily schedule, including arts and crafts, animal interactions, water activities, games, playground, and others.
Maintain overall control of the behavior of the children in all areas of the park.
Serve Jungle Island in any capacity required to support the highest guest standards and safety standards.
Meets and exceeds guest expectations by ensuring a positive and courteous attitude.
Maintains a favorable working relationship with all company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate.
Follows professional grooming and dress standards.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Availability Monday to Friday.
QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong telephone and computer etiquette.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills • Always demonstrates a calm and professional manner.
Strong knowledge of hospitality operations.
Ability to multi-task and remain organized.
Ability to work extended hours as needed.
Must have a reliable, insured method of transportation.
Education: H.S. Diploma
Experience with children required. Enthusiastic, outgoing character desired. Science or animal experience a plus. Able to do multiple tasks at once. Capable of sustaining outdoor summer heat. Temporary, seasonal position (June-August and December).
Physical Demands
Must be able to carry a hurt child, animal crates, bird-perches and other animal supplies. This position requires long hours of standing, walking, bending, and squatting. It is a must that this person is physically able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds or more.
Needs to be in good physical condition to enable them to interact with the staff and our customers.
Must be able to work all shifts including AM's, PM's, weekends, and holidays.
