Data Engineer

Joyful Health is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design and scale data pipelines and distributed systems in a fast-paced startup environment. You will own data infrastructure end-to-end and collaborate with software engineering, machine learning, and product teams to enable data-driven decision making. Healthcare data experience is a bonus.

What youll do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines using Airflow/Dagster and dbt.
• Take ownership of the data infrastructure, ensuring data quality, and enabling the rest of the team to leverage data effectively.
• Work closely with software engineering, machine learning, and product teams to understand data needs and deliver robust solutions.
• Develop systems for data processing and coordination for our AI-driven products.
• Optimize and scale our database systems to handle massive datasets efficiently.

What Joyful Health is looking for

• 3+ years of experience in Data/ML engineering.
• Experience at a VC-backed startup (Series A or later) or fast-moving, reputable company.
• Experience working with healthcare data.
• Experience building data pipelines as distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Track record of owning data infrastructure projects from end to end.
• Proficiency with data pipelining tools (Airflow or Dagster) and dbt.
