Founding Product Designer
About this role
Founding Product Designer at Hera (YC S25) will partner with engineering to design intuitive experiences for AI-powered animation creation, making advanced tools accessible to a broad audience. You’ll own the design lifecycle from concept to launch, including prototypes, design systems, and pixel-perfect execution, while shaping GTM visuals and messaging. This is a founders’ role at a fast-growing startup where design directly influences product adoption and growth.
What youll do
- Partner with engineering to design intuitive experiences that make AI-powered animation creation accessible to everyone.
- Create the perfect AI-native interface that balances simplicity with power: hiding complexity while giving users control when they need it.
- Run user interviews and usability tests continuously to find new opportunities and validate design choices.
- Own designs from concept to launch, including prototypes, design systems, and pixel-perfect execution.
- Drive growth through design experiments, better onboarding, and conversion improvements.
- Shape go-to-market messaging and visuals that connect with our target audience.
What Hera (YC S25) is looking for
- Experience conducting user research (interviews, usability testing) and translating insights into design decisions.
- Proficiency with design tools (e.g., Figma), prototyping, and developing/designing scalable design systems.
- Ability to own the design process end-to-end in a startup environment including shipping, iteration, and measuring UX impact.
- Location based in Berlin or willing to relocate to Berlin to collaborate with the team in-office.
- 5+ years of product design experience, preferably designing AI-powered or complex software interfaces.
- Experience partnering with engineering teams and contributing to product strategy and execution.
- Experience designing onboarding flows and experiments aimed at improving activation and conversion metrics.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design from concept to launch, including design systems and pixel-perfect UI.
