Founding AI Engineer

Hera (YC S25) is building the world's first AI motion designer that creates professional animations in seconds. In this founding role, you'll build and optimize AI systems with a small, collaborative team to translate design knowledge into scalable motion capabilities. Your work will help designers and marketers generate high-quality, style-consistent animations at speed.

What youll do

• Build and optimize AI systems to generate high-quality animations
• Develop comprehensive evaluation frameworks to assess animation quality
• Partner with motion designers and marketers to translate professional design knowledge into AI training data
• Design and implement fine-tuning pipelines
• Create feedback loops between user preferences and model performance
• Research and prototype state-of-the-art approaches for controllable, style-consistent motion graphics generation

What Hera (YC S25) is looking for

• Proficiency in designing, implementing, and evaluating fine-tuning pipelines for AI models
• Ability to design and curate training data from designer and marketer inputs to train AI models
• Experience developing and deploying generative AI models for motion/graphics or related visual content
• Willingness to work on-site in Berlin or relocate to Berlin, with ability to collaborate with a small founding team
• Strong experience with TypeScript, React.js, and Next.js for frontend/interactive tooling
• Experience with PostgreSQL databases and cloud platforms (GCP and AWS)
• Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills with designers and marketers
• Experience building evaluation frameworks to quantify animation quality and user-perceived motion fidelity
