The Senior Member of Technical Staff at Harper will own high-impact systems end-to-end, architecting and shipping AI-enabled infrastructure that directly drives revenue. You’ll operate as one of the most senior engineers, mentoring by building alongside others and delivering fast, irreversible decisions without waiting for consensus.

What youll do

• Own core AI infrastructure and production systems from architecture to deployment.
• Design and evolve agent architecture that powers Harper’s platforms.
• Implement evaluation methods that produce reliable, actionable results.
• Capture decision traces to enable auditability and learning.
• Ensure the platform scales to support increasing usage and business impact.

What Harper is looking for

• 3+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Experience delivering revenue-impacting software features and architectures that enable business growth.
• Experience owning end-to-end software systems from architecture through implementation and deployment, with measurable business impact.
• Experience translating business problems into scalable technical solutions.
• Familiarity with building AI components or AI-enabled features that can compound value for the business.
• Experience in or knowledge of the insurance domain or regulated industries to navigate domain constraints.
• Ability to mentor and collaborate by building alongside engineers (hands-on mentorship through code and pairing), not just through PR reviews.
