Staff Software Engineer (iOS)

Harmonic is seeking a Staff Software Engineer (iOS) to build Harmonic’s first iOS app from scratch. As a founding engineer, you’ll own the end-to-end development, set quality standards, and establish our mobile presence, collaborating closely with Product and Design to deliver AI-native experiences that define how users interact with our product.

What youll do

• Own the end-to-end development of Harmonic’s first iOS app, from initial setup and architecture to shipping the final product.
• Partner with Product and Design leads to create exceptional, world-class interactive experiences, particularly with AI-native chat UX.
• As the founding iOS engineer, drive key technical decisions and help shape the future of mobile development at Harmonic.
• Establish scalable foundations, including testing strategies, CI/CD pipelines, and reusable components to enable future team growth.
• Turn ideas into polished, production-ready features quickly, defining what a great native iOS app feels like for our users.

What Harmonic is looking for

• 8+ years of iOS development experience, including building an app from scratch and shipping 0->1 initiatives.
• Experience as a founding iOS engineer or in roles that own end-to-end development with strong polish and user experience.
• Experience working in both large tech companies and startups; background in high-growth, venture-backed environments.
• Proficiency in Swift and strong CS fundamentals.
• Experience with modern iOS frameworks (UIKit and/or SwiftUI) and modular architecture with scalable abstractions.
• Proven ability to architect and ship end-to-end iOS apps with scalable, maintainable codebases.
