We're building AI agents that helps automate Anti Money Launderiing operations for banks and fintechs—and we're looking for a full stack engineer (leaning backend) to help us scale the platform that's already handling real KYC/AML workflows for leading financial institutions across US, EU, MENA and Japan.
**The problem we're solving:** Banks and fintechs spend millions on KYC/AML teams manually investigating customers, remediating sanctions alerts, and verifying customer documents. It's tedious, expensive, and takes analysts away from genuine financial crime work. We're building AI agents that learn a company's policies, integrate into their existing systems, and automate these L1 tasks with full auditability and human oversight.
**About Diligent:** We're a Y Combinator-backed fintech infrastructure startup with offices in London. Our founders, Edoardo and Ahmed, come from deep fintech and AML backgrounds and saw firsthand how broken compliance operations are. We're post-seed with strong runway, production customers, and real traction. We're at the stage where product-market fit is emerging and we need to move fast.
**What you'll build:** Everything! This is a true full stack role where you'll own significant parts of the product—from the core AI agent infrastructure and API systems to integrations with KYC/AML platforms that banks rely on.
You'll ship features rapidly, make architectural decisions, work directly with Edoardo and Ahmed, and see your code handling sensitive compliance workflows at scale. We build on serverless architecture using JavaScript/TypeScript on AWS with strong CI/CD practices.
What we're looking for:** 1-5 years of experience building production systems, ideally with some exposure to our stack (serverless, JavaScript, TypeScript, AWS, or CI/CD). We value technical excellence—whether that comes from a top-tier university, experience at competitive tech companies (Google, Meta, Stripe, Revolut, etc.), or building at early-stage startups with real traction. If you've founded something yourself (raised funding or launched with customers, or worked on it seriously), even better—that builder mindset thrives here.
The role is based in London and requires working closely with the founding team in person. You must have existing right to work in the UK—we cannot provide visa sponsorship at this stage.
**What we offer:** 70-100 K£ + 0.2-0.5% equity - negotiable depending on salary/equity preferences Real ownership and end2end responsibility for product releases and new launches. Direct access and exposure to customers and users, on a daily basis. And lastly... a chance to help fight financial crime!
