Sankt Wendel · On-site$80k – $100k

About this role

This Senior Platform Engineer joins a small ops-focused team responsible for the availability, security and auditability of Glückliche Gäste GmbH’s platform and server infrastructure; your work ensures customer-facing products run 24x7 across Kubernetes clusters, Linux servers and on-prem hardware while meeting growing security and compliance demands.

What you'll do

  • Own the stable, secure and auditable operation of the platform and server infrastructure.
  • Operate and evolve multiple Kubernetes clusters running on VMs and physical Linux hosts.
  • Take 24x7 ownership for a platform that must remain continuously available.
  • Provide 2nd-level on-call response and incident handling for infrastructure incidents.
  • Design and implement infrastructure with focus on availability, security, automation and auditability.
  • Implement and maintain Security-by-Design controls including system hardening, access concepts and secrets management.
  • Build logging, monitoring and traceability to ensure operational visibility and audit evidence.
  • Translate C5 and ISO 27018 requirements into concrete technical controls and maintain audit-ready documentation.
  • Automate operations, deployments and maintenance tasks (Bash is standard; introduce other tools as needed).
  • Collaborate closely with development, product and external security/compliance partners as the technical point of contact.

What Glückliche Gäste GmbH is looking for

  • Several years of experience operating complex Linux infrastructures.
  • Strong, practical experience running Kubernetes in production.
  • Deep understanding of Linux systems, networking and storage.
  • Very good Bash skills and an automation-first mindset.
  • Solid, hands-on IT security knowledge: system/network hardening, access control/identity concepts, logging, monitoring and incident response.
  • Experience or strong interest in security and compliance frameworks (C5, ISO 27018 or similar) and translating them into technical controls.
  • Ability to implement pragmatic, audit-ready security and compliance measures and produce necessary documentation/evidence.
  • Structured, responsible approach with focus on long-term operability.
  • Fluent German language skills.
  • Preference for infrastructure-focused work (no Windows/helpdesk/classic shift-based support).
