Head of Marketing
About this role
This role leads fonio’s marketing function end-to-end, owning large media budgets and the full funnel from acquisition to conversion; you’ll build and scale the team, define strategy and KPIs, and drive qualified leads to Sales. You’ll work closely with the CEO in a flat organization where hands-on execution and rapid impact on growth matter.
What you'll do
- Own the entire marketing function with responsibility for strategy, execution, and results.
- Manage and allocate a monthly marketing budget of over €400,000.
- Drive lead generation for Sales with qualified leads as the primary KPI.
- Define marketing strategy, priorities, and KPIs across all channels.
- Lead media buying and scaling efforts in collaboration with Performance Marketing.
- Develop creative and content strategies with testing frameworks for ads, site, and funnels.
- Own website copy, customer journey, messaging, and conversion optimization.
- Optimize newsletter and email flows to improve engagement and conversion.
- Build and manage the marketing team, hiring to remove bottlenecks and scale capacity.
- Plan and execute go-to-market strategies and influencer or social initiatives.
- Set strategy and KPI frameworks for SEO, social, and personal branding.
What fonio is looking for
- Minimum 5 years of marketing experience with progressive leadership responsibility.
- Proven track record managing large budgets (experience with budgets in the hundreds of thousands/month; ideally exceeding €500,000/month total).
- Deep understanding of KPIs, tracking, attribution, and conversion optimization.
- Strong instinct for performance-driven creative, messaging, and testing.
- Hands-on operator who can scale a team while remaining accountable for execution.
- High standards for speed, quality, and ownership in a fast-moving environment.
- Ideally experience in B2B SaaS or e‑commerce.
