Founders Associate

fonio is a fast-growing Telefon‑KI used daily by over 6,000 companies; this Founders Associate role partners closely with the CEO to take ownership of Finance and Recruiting and to drive operations and process automation across the company. It’s a high-impact, on-site role in Vienna where you’ll build scalable finance and hiring systems and support strategic initiatives across functions.

What you'll do

• Support the C‑level and provide ad‑hoc strategic and operational assistance to the CEO.
• Own Finance responsibilities including cashflow management, forecasting and investor reporting.
• Act as the interface to accounting and tax advisors for accounting coordination.
• Research, apply for and report on grants and public funding.
• Build and optimize finance processes and automations.
• Develop and maintain KPIs and investor-ready reporting.
• Build a scalable recruiting pipeline and run active sourcing and screening.
• Design and manage hiring campaigns and employer branding with Marketing & Design.
• Coordinate process building in Notion and other internal workflows to improve structure and efficiency.
• Plan and execute events such as offsites and team events.
• Take full ownership of operational projects rather than performing back‑office tasks.

What fonio is looking for

• Early experience in startups/scale‑ups or consulting, with demonstrated operational responsibility.
• Practical experience with finance processes, accounting interfaces and KPI reporting.
• Strong analytical skills and a very precise way of working.
• Ability to quickly structure complex topics and translate them into repeatable processes.
• Ownership mindset and a desire to lead initiatives end‑to‑end.
• High willingness to learn, especially in accounting, SaaS KPIs and automation.
• Software affinity: Notion, Excel/Sheets and n8n/Make.com (or readiness to learn them quickly).
• Native‑level German and very good English.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Vienna (relocation package offered).
