Product Lead Engineer

Fira Health is building agentic AI tools to transform administrative workflows in healthcare, starting with home health. This hands-on Product Lead Engineer will own a critical slice of our AI platform, pairing product intuition with engineering chops to design and ship automation that reduces admin burden and speeds payments. You’ll work closely with engineers and RCM experts to translate edge cases into measurable outcomes, with a path to broader leadership as the company scales.

What youll do

• Map user journeys and translate them into a clear product roadmap.
• Define success metrics and set OKRs for your domain.
• Prioritize work in thin, testable slices for each release.
• Lead discovery, quick prototypes, and spec writing for workflows (e.g., voice capture for Voice Scribe).
• Pair with engineering to choose the right models, rules, or APIs.
• Run customer pilots, gather structured feedback, and iterate.
• Instrument dashboards for accuracy, latency, and cash-flow KPIs; investigate outliers and ship rapid fixes.
• Build human-in-the-loop reviews and feed outcomes back into model or rule tuning.
• Ensure HIPAA controls, audit trails, and payer-rule updates are embedded in each release.

What Fira Health is looking for

• 5+ years in Product Engineering roles.
• Strong CS fundamentals; experience with Docker, PostgreSQL, Next.js, React, FastAPI, Pydantic, Python; AWS; and building scalable backend systems (APIs, distributed services, data pipelines).
• Experience with 0-1 or early-stage product development at high-growth startups.
• Healthcare/RCM domain experience; familiarity with PHI protection and HIPAA compliance.
• Data-driven mindset: monitor accuracy, denial impact, and cycle time, then iterate to improve metrics.
• Clear, effective communicator who can interview engineers, present trade-offs, and document decisions.
• Security and privacy savvy, with awareness of audits and payer rules.
• Growth potential: eager to own the automation roadmap and evolve into a leadership role as Fira Health scales.
