Infrastructure Engineer

Fira Health is building AI-native infrastructure to automate the administrative backbone of healthcare. As an Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll own the foundational systems that power our AI automation platform, ensuring reliability, security, and performance as we scale from one client to dozens. You’ll work across the stack to shape resilient, compliant infrastructure for healthcare workflows.

What youll do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS (ECS, Postgres, Redshift) and data pipelines to support the AI-driven platform.
• Own CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation with testing, rollback capabilities, and zero-downtime releases.
• Implement and manage infrastructure-as-code using Terraform across all environments.
• Build comprehensive observability and monitoring systems with Datadog to track health, performance, and cost.
• Scale and optimize database systems (Postgres, Redshift) for growing data volumes while preserving performance and integrity.
• Ensure security and compliance at the infrastructure layer, including IAM, network security, audit logging, and HIPAA considerations.

What Fira Health is looking for

• Infrastructure/Platform engineering experience: 4+ years building and scaling production systems.
• AWS expertise: hands-on experience with Terraform and AWS services (ECS, RDS/Postgres, Redshift, IAM, VPC).
• CI/CD & deployment: strong background in building pipelines, automated testing, and deployment automation.
• Observability & monitoring: practical experience with Datadog (metrics, logging, tracing, alerting).
• Collaboration & communication: ability to partner with engineering teams to translate requirements into reliable infra solutions.
• Willingness to work in the New York office 3-5 days a week.
• Industry background: experience in healthcare technology or other highly regulated industries.
• Data pipelines: familiarity with data pipeline orchestration tools and ETL/ELT patterns.
• Data warehousing: familiarity with Redshift or similar warehouses.
• SRE practices: background in incident response, post-mortems, and reliability engineering.
• Education: Strong CS fundamentals; Bachelor's or Master's in CS, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
