Clera is building AI agents that handle recruiting end-to-end, from finding passive candidates to scheduling interviews. As a Founding Engineer, you’ll own core systems that scale our candidate data, conversations, and matching, shipping production-ready features weekly with the CTO. Based in San Francisco (visa sponsorship available), you’ll help us accelerate from startup to marketplace-scale.

What youll do

• Own end-to-end systems for candidate data, conversations, and real-time matching at scale.
• Build data pipelines to parse resumes, pull data from LinkedIn and GitHub, and extract skills and seniority with LLMs.
• Develop an agentic conversation system to text candidates, answer questions, handle objections, and book calls.
• Create a real-time matching engine that returns relevant candidates quickly, normalizing synonyms and platform terms.
• Ship production-grade features daily, collaborating closely with the CTO and stakeholders.
• Maintain quality, reliability, and performance as we scale to 100x.

What Clera is looking for

• Proficiency with React and TypeScript (Next.js experience a plus).
• Experience delivering end-to-end product features in a fast-paced startup, including ownership and shipping to production daily.
• Proficiency with Cursor, Supabase, Prisma, Typesense, LLM APIs, and trigger.dev in production-grade projects.
• Experience in entrepreneurial hacky environments or startup culture.
• Open to working in hackerhouses in LatAm.
• Willingness to work 7 days/week.
• Strong portfolio or track record (e.g., outstanding GPA, notable projects, active GitHub).
• Strong CS fundamentals.
