The Activities Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading recreational and wellness-based activities for older adults within the medical center. This role promotes social engagement, cognitive stimulation, and physical activity, contributing to improved well-being and quality of life for patients. The Wellness Coordinator ensures activities are tailored to meet the needs and abilities of the elderly population and fosters a supportive, inclusive environment.
Design and implement a calendar of wellness and recreational activities appropriate for older adults.
Lead group activities such as arts and crafts, fitness sessions, music therapy, games, and educational workshops.
Encourage participation and engagement among patients to promote social connection and reduce isolation.
Coordinate logistics for events, including space setup, supplies, and transportation needs when applicable.
Maintain accurate attendance records and gather feedback from participants to inform program improvements.
Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure activities are safe and suitable for individual health needs.
Create and distribute activity calendars, flyers, and promotional materials within the center.
Support community outreach efforts and special event planning.
Ensure compliance with infection control and safety standards during all group activities.
Report any concerns regarding patient behavior, health status, or safety to clinical staff promptly.
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience working with elderly populations or in senior wellness programs preferred.
Strong organizational and event planning skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Creativity, enthusiasm, and a compassionate approach to working with older adults.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and ability to learn scheduling software.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
General office working conditions.
