Staff Supplier Industrialization Engineer, Mechanical

Biofire is seeking an experienced Staff Supplier Industrialization Engineer, Mechanical to build and lead Biofire's mechanical supplier base from NPI to mass production. You’ll own supplier development, partner with Product Engineering on DFM, and drive RCCA with suppliers in a fast-paced, startup environment with extensive travel.

What youll do

• Own and build the entire mechanical supply base, from supplier identification and qualification to volume production.
• Take ownership of the supplier development process, acting as the primary technical representative with suppliers to resolve issues without constant reliance on the internal engineering team.
• Work closely with Product Engineering to provide DFM feedback and ensure designs are optimized for high-volume manufacturing.
• Vet supplier production capabilities, including die casting, metal injection molding, stamping, and rolling, to build a robust and reliable supply chain.
• Lead the bring-up of new supplier tooling and production lines to meet quality, performance, and capacity requirements.
• Drive root cause corrective action (RCCA) initiatives with suppliers to eliminate risks and improve quality and reliability throughout the product lifecycle.

What Biofire is looking for

• 3+ years in Supplier Industrialization Engineering roles.
• Expertise across multiple mechanical manufacturing processes (e.g., die casting, injection molding, stamping) and tooling.
• Experience owning supplier development, not just quality assurance.
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments (e.g., consumer electronics, automotive).
• Willingness to travel extensively (potentially 50-75%) in the near term.
• Experience building a supplier base from 0 to 1.
• Strong CS fundamentals with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Experience taking a part from NPI through ramp to mass production.
• Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.
