We are looking for a Staff Supplier Industrialization Engineer with 5+ years of true industrialization experience to own and build our entire electrical supply chain. This is a critical, high-autonomy role for someone who is a deep technical expert in PCB/PCBA manufacturing and comfortable operating as the primary problem-solver at the supplier level. You will be responsible for standing up and scaling a world-class supplier base from the ground up, ensuring Biofire can reliably move from early production into high-volume manufacturing.
Own the entire PCB/PCBA supplier category end-to-end, from identifying and down-selecting global suppliers to qualification, NPI, ramp, and full-scale production, with full autonomy over supplier strategy and decisions.
Act as the technical owner for all supplier-related issues, working directly on manufacturing lines (SMT, assembly, test) to diagnose defects, lead root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions without relying on internal engineering.
Travel extensively (50–75%) to supplier sites, primarily in Asia, to assess capabilities, troubleshoot issues in real time, audit processes, and ensure production readiness and performance.
Build and scale a high-performance supplier base, evaluating partners for not just cost but true capability, capacity, and ability to meet Class 3 quality, throughput, and reliability standards as production scales.
Drive supplier development and production readiness, including tooling bring-up, process validation, yield improvement, and capacity planning to ensure consistent, on-time delivery.
Implement and enforce robust supplier quality systems, leveraging methodologies like FMEA, APQP, PPAP, and structured testing to ensure predictable, high-quality output across the product lifecycle.
Communicate clearly with executive leadership, translating complex technical and manufacturing challenges into concise insights, tradeoffs, and actionable recommendations.
