Founding Forward Deployed Engineer

Avallon is seeking a forward-deployed engineer who can bridge engineering depth with a strong customer focus. You’ll work hands-on with clients to implement AI agents, design integrations, and tune systems, while keeping a clear line to product and engineering teams. This role sits at the intersection of engineering and customer success and matters because it directly drives value realization for our customers.

What youll do

• Own the technical relationship from first demo to production deployment, tailoring AI agents to fit each customer’s workflows.
• Build custom integrations, APIs, and workflows that connect our voice AI and document agents to customer systems.
• Perform AI tuning, including prompt engineering and agent behavior refinement based on usage and feedback.
• Gather insights from customer engagements and channel them back to product and engineering to influence the roadmap.
• Provide technical consulting on AI agent design, workflow automation, and system integration decisions.
• Manage multiple customer implementations simultaneously, prioritizing and delivering under tight timelines without sacrificing quality.

What Avallon is looking for

• 1-3 years building or implementing technical solutions, with foundational Python or TypeScript skills.
• Experience with API integrations, REST APIs, webhooks, and data flow across systems.
• Hands-on AI/LLM experience or credible side projects using AI tools.
• Strong communication and presentation skills for explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Background in solutions engineering, forward deployed engineering, technical consulting, or early full-stack engineering; customer-facing experience in a B2B SaaS, banking, or consulting environment.
• Strong CS fundamentals; technical degree or equivalent experience; willingness to thrive in a startup environment.
