Software Engineer (Full-Stack)

We are looking for a Full-Stack Software Engineer with 1–5 years of experience to join August at an early stage and help build AGI for law. We need a high-agency, deeply passionate builder who thrives in a fast-moving environment and is excited to ship product that already outperforms lawyers in third-party evaluations. If you want to own meaningful work from day one at a company growing 4x+ in revenue, this is your seat.

What will you be doing?

Ship product features and build reliable, production-grade applications across the full stack (TypeScript, Python, React)

Build intuitive UI/UX for AI-native workflows integrating LLMs and agentic architectures

Prototype and iterate rapidly on zero-to-one features in close partnership with founders and legal experts

Own your work end-to-end — from weekly prioritization sessions to production deployment

Contribute across product engineering and infrastructure as the team scales

Key Requirements

Proficient in TypeScript and Python — these are the core languages of the stack

Has shipped production-quality code at a reputable, high-growth company (Series A or later preferred)

Can point to something they've built and are genuinely proud of — a personal project, GitHub, or portfolio that shows passion for building

CS degree (4-year) required; no bootcamp backgrounds

High agency and high reliability — able to own problems independently and deliver without hand-holding
