About this role

Arbio is hiring an Engineer to join a lean, high-impact team building agentic AI systems that observe, decide, and act on real-world property operations with humans in the loop. This role is central to shipping end-to-end features, modernizing legacy systems, and turning messy operational workflows into reliable, autonomous software.

What you'll do

  • Own features end-to-end and learn the business deeply enough to drive solutions independently.
  • Design and build agentic AI workflows for guest communication (chat and voice), operational decisions, and property tasks.
  • Modernize legacy systems and redesign data structures to meet 2026 requirements.
  • Shadow real workflows to uncover inefficiencies, workarounds, and hidden steps.
  • Translate messy processes into clean, production-ready software.
  • Scope, ship, and iterate on problems rather than just handling tickets.
  • Collaborate and communicate with internal teams to align product and engineering work.
  • Operate with high agency and ownership to deliver results rapidly and safely.

What Arbio is looking for

  • Demonstrable engineering experience you can show during the hiring process.
  • Strong product taste with attention to user experience down to messaging and interaction wording.
  • Ability to PM yourself: plan work, communicate progress, and flag blockers proactively.
  • Track record of shipping quickly while exercising sound judgment about what can safely break.
  • Fluent English and strong communication skills, including asking the right questions to move work forward.
  • Comfortable working in an agentic engineering way (e.g., using Claude Code, Codex, running multiple agents and terminals in parallel).
  • Familiarity with React, Express, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and AWS, with experience using Linear and Notion for work tracking and documentation.
  • Thrives in a small, accountable team focused on outcomes rather than meetings.
  • Willingness to relocate to Germany and attend the Berlin office from time to time.
  • Bonus: founder mentality or prior startup founding experience.
