Founding Engineer
About this role
We're looking for a hungry, AI-pilled Founding engineer with 0–3 years of experience who has shipped agentic AI or multimodal systems to real users. You should be comfortable operating as a scrappy generalist across the full stack in a founding-stage environment, with a strong lean toward backend and AI engineering. Bonus points if you have computer vision experience, a founder background, or exposure to industrial/wearable domains.
What you'll do:
Build and own the full-stack product around Alcor's agentic-VLM core — DB, storage, backend APIs, and app — taking it from prototype to production in enterprise customers' hands
Integrate the multi-step, tool-using visual-reasoning loop into real industrial customer workflows (datacenter SOPs, inspections, field service)
Co-own the eval harness and data flywheel with the AI engineer — designing evals with limited data, capturing failure modes, and driving measurable model quality improvements each release
Build internal company tooling — automating workflows with AI coworkers, native AI-driven company context, build-vs-buy decisions
Contribute to GTM strategy — help select next-best clients across datacenter, aerospace, and energy verticals
Help recruit and onboard the next engineers as the team scales
