Forward Deployed Engineer

This role is for an engineer who will embed with customers to design and build the integration layer connecting Aira's core platform to real-world provider and payer systems, enabling smoother workflows for clinical practices and insurances. You’ll work closely with founders and customers to translate complex, ambiguous requirements into reliable integrations and ship production features that impact revenue and user experience.

What youll do

• Own provider and payer integrations end-to-end, from discovery to production.
• Join client discovery sessions with founders to map workflows and convert them into technical requirements.
• Build and maintain integrations using APIs where available and scrapers/RPA where needed.
• Ship custom integrations quickly to meet client needs.
• Contribute to the core product when integration work allows.
• Develop deep working knowledge of the US provider/payer landscape.
• Work across our Python/FastAPI backend and React + TypeScript frontend when required.
• Operate with cloud infrastructure on AWS or GCP and manage Postgres-backed services.

What Aira is looking for

• 2–5 years of full-stack engineering experience.
• Startup experience on small teams with broad ownership and ambiguity.
• Proven track record of owning features or products end-to-end.
• Experience integrating with third-party APIs.
• Experience building scrapers or RPA for legacy systems.
• Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS or GCP).
• Familiarity with Python, FastAPI, React, TypeScript, Postgres, and GitHub.
• Experience building AI-enabled features in production (beyond coding assistants).
• Active use of AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) and shipping work with them.
• Strong English communication skills for explaining tradeoffs to non-technical audiences.
• Domain experience in US healthcare.
• Full-time, no office but in-person presence required when called and some travel.
