Soil Capital is a mission-driven company with long expertise in regenerative agriculture and spearheading the low-carbon transition of farms. It was founded on the core belief that farmers should be rewarded and fairly compensated for their key role in tackling the climate crisis.
In 2019, Soil Capital launched Europe’s first certified carbon payment programme to accelerate the adoption of regenerative practices. Today, Soil Capital goes Beyond Carbon with 30+ indicators reflecting farm performance across five critical areas: soil health, biodiversity, water management, climate and socio-economics.
The programme counts over 1,800 farmers in its ranks, spread across France, Belgium and the UK on 500,000 ha.
Soil Capital’s ambition is to accompany farmers in the transition of 10 million hectares to more profitable and regenerative agriculture by 2030.
Our programme unlocks regenerative and resilient food supply chains, by connecting farmers with food & fiber companies committed to rebalancing our agriculture system. We also support companies that want to contribute to support regenerative farming as part of their global net zero initiatives.
The programme is built on a reliable methodology that complies with the FLAG requirements of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), helping companies reduce their scope 3 emissions and sustainable goals.
