LSS of SD is a statewide, multi-service non-profit human ministry organization.
Serving the state since 1920, LSS’s vision is that all people in South Dakota will be healthy, safe and accepted. At the heart of this vision is community collaboration, prevention and a continuum of 18 service lines dedicated to strengthening families and keeping children in their homes and communities.
LSS believes, and studies show, that when individuals are part of a strong, stable family, whether that is a traditional family or more unstructured natural supports, they are more likely to be successful—and this is woven into their mission throughout each service line.
Their wide range of services—including affordable and accessible mental health counseling, pregnancy counseling and adoption services, financial guidance, family stabilization programming, youth mentoring, residential services for children and youth, and alternatives to juvenile detention—enable a holistic approach to care and collaboration among service lines to best meet needs tailored to each individual, family and community.
