Telecommunications Student Installer
Lakeland Networks is a fibre-optic internet service provider (ISP) based in Bracebridge, looking for a professional, technically capable, confident, and energetic Student Installer. Your primary responsibilities will be to assist with provisioning and delivering customer-premises equipment to facilitate equipment upgrades, install technological equipment, and communicate and coordinate with internal and external customers. This co-op placement is planned to begin in the Summer of 2026 (May-August).
Responsibilities:
- Plan installations, migration, and decommissioning of customer premise equipment
- Analyze technical specifications to prepare installation schematic and documentation
- Conduct site surveys and audits when required
- Communicate project progress and concerns with team members
- Quickly shift priorities and adapt to changes to meet organizational and department requirements
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a computer science/networking, electronics or related post-secondary co-op program
- Valid G license and clean driver's abstract
- Demonstrates strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
- Ability to problem solve & troubleshoot issues (break/fix experience in Ethernet and Fibre skills is considered an asset
- Competency to read, analyze, and interpret detailed technical manuals and diagrams
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office software and phone systems is considered an asset
- Self-starter with a high level of attention to detail
- Excellent written, verbal, and virtual communication skills
- Excellent service focus
- Ability to multitask
Pay: $21.00 per hour
