A day in the life:
The Mechanic is responsible for performing a variety of general and preventative maintenance duties. This includes installing, repairing, and maintaining building equipment and systems in a safe and efficient manner to ensure uninterrupted facility operations.
What you’ll do as an Exceptional Team Member
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance services as scheduled.
- Conduct basic facility repairs, including changing light bulbs, minor plumbing work, and fixture replacements.
- Complete assigned work orders and tasks in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct outdoor cleanup including trash pickup around the building and parking areas.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and machinery as directed.
- Properly use, maintain, and store tools and equipment.
- Operate all mechanical and maintenance equipment safely and according to guidelines.
- Monitor and maintain assigned building systems and respond to issues as needed.
- Identify and report safety hazards and take appropriate action.
- Maintain courteous and professional behavior when interacting with residents, vendors, contractors, and colleagues.
- Work independently and efficiently without close supervision.
What you’ll need to be an Extraordinary Team Member
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1 year of commercial or facilities-related maintenance experience.
- Basic knowledge of maintenance trades such as electrical, plumbing, and general repairs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work flexible or assigned shifts, including nights or weekends if required.
